For shifting services: the biggest part of the price is the vehicle: a Shehzore carries a one-room move, a 17 ft Mazda a normal two or three bedroom house, and a 20 ft Mazda or container a large house. Choosing the right size first time is cheaper than paying for a second trip.

Packing adds material and time. Cartons, bubble wrap, stretch film and blankets protect what you own, and a packed move is usually faster on the day because everything is ready to load in order.

Packing advice before your move

Empty, clean and dry the fridge and washing machine a day before. Water left inside leaks onto other goods, and a fridge should stand upright for a few hours after the move before it is switched on.
